I left the Catholic Church. I stopped going to Mass the Sunday after my confirmation, which was the deal I made with my parents.
I’m proud to say I never subjected my children to any Catholic guilt trips or other Catholic bullshit.
Sorry not sorry if this offends anyone, but that church has SO much to answer for. And I’m not talking about the Crusades here. I’m talking about modern times.

I consider myself a nonpracticing Catholic, but like you, I did not bring my children to that church. Or to any other church.

Thanks for sharing Laurie. I became UU, which is very liberal and has no formal creed/rules. I love singing in the choir. My kids participated in UU Sunday School for many years. We have many ex-Catholics, atheists, humanists, and childless cat ladies😉

I’m all for maintaining some traditional thoughts and values, but certain things should change with the times.
