We have germination

My husband’s new Retirement Garden (aka The Graveyard) will not sit idle until spring. With hopes for a warm October, he went ahead and put in a bunch of seeds and surprisingly, they all sprouted.

He planted spinach, radishes, Swiss chard and four kinds of lettuce seeds.

Also, he now has a spigot out there. 💦

For my friends facing knee replacement: his two new knees are really pretty darn good now. Walking is not a problem. Stairs are not a problem. I would say that this optimistic return to his lifelong love of plants and gardening has been made possible by those surgeries.

      1. Six months to pretty darn good. There’s still some swelling and random things that feel weird in there. The doctors say it’s one full year to total recovery (or as good as it’s gonna get).

      2. I know…but “normal” just prior to surgery (for my husband anyway) was pretty bad. You’re getting back to something you haven’t had for years and years. It’ll be worth it! Eyes on the prize 🏆 💃🏿

  1. This made me smile so much 🌱💚 The garden sprouting is exciting, but honestly the bigger story here is your husband getting his knees back and returning to something he loves. Fingers crossed for a warm October so those veggies actually make it to the table!
