  1. Thanks for the introduction to Red’s Wrap. It was so heartfelt and well written. It’s pretty amazing what Harris accomplished is such a short time period. I’m not sure what else she could have done. No, the blame doesn’t fall on her. Her campaign was a joy to experience. There is no blame really. Just a shocking realization of the severe divide of this country. I’m literally numb from this election cycle. I agree, it’s time to cocoon for a while. I don’t normally put my head in the sand, but I’m going to for a bit. I’ll just lift my head out of the hole long enough to enjoy a few scoops of ice cream from time to time. Not really a plan, but that’s all I’ve got for now. Ice cream. And lots of it. No need for a bowl. Just hand me the carton and a big ol spoon. I’ll heal in time.

    1. I actually do place a significant amount of blame on Joe Biden. If he had less ego and never launched a reelection campaign at age EIGHTY-ONE, Democrats would’ve had another full year to do a normal primary process and build support for the absolute best candidate — whether that be Kamala or Josh Shapiro or someone else.

And I agree – this situation surely calls for some pints of Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream straight from the carton. Oy.

  2. Thanks for reblogging, Mary! I loved her post so well written. My family is in shock, and it will take days to recover, but here’s what I wrote in my comment on Jan’s post:

humans have suffered, they have lost, they have fought, and they have won

so like she concluded, we need to muster up strength and perseverance for what comes next. ❤️

      1. I’m so lucky to have become a grandmother in September. In some ways, it made the pain of the election even worse (I had already purchased a tiny “Harris-Walz For A Brighter Future” onesie for my granddaughter 😢) But on the other hand, it is such a huge light to have this tiny perfect infant to love

      1. Came home early from work with a terrible migraine today, combination of still shaking the sinus thing and I think, dehydration from shock and not eating/drinking on Wednesday. Doing my best to do normal things, but here I am awake far too early. 🙂

        And you, today?

      2. I know. The physical manifestations of the shock are very real. Sorry about your migraine! I didn’t sleep one wink on Tuesday night, but slept OK Wednesday & Thursday night. Sleep makes a big difference. Is the sinus thing going away, finally?

      3. Glad that you’re sleeping now, and yes it does. I thought the sinus issue was clearing but now I’m sneezing and coughing again, then the headache yesterday, so I have no idea. Have an ENT appointment but it takes so long to get to. 🙂
