Two vaccines and a coupon

The CVS app said that the newly updated Covid vaccine is available so I decided to get one while I can (before the brain worm host sends us back to the 1940s).

I easily booked an appointment to get both the new Covid vaccine and the updated flu shot at my local Massachusetts CVS. Since I’m under 65, I had to choose a “condition” to qualify for the Covid vaccine of which many were listed including mood disorders and having a BMI over 25. I chose “current or former smoker” which is true, but nobody asked for any proof of that.

Nobody asked me for my insurance card or charged me any money. I got one jab in each arm and a 50% off coupon. I bought some moisturizer that’s supposed to make me look younger with the coupon.

  1. The black and white sketch brings it home, doesn’t it?
I recently treated myself to some terribly expensive face cream that promised a return to a youthful appearance, and I’m a girl whom has never had a manicure. The chemist looked at me and said ” Love, the horse has already bolted”. I had to laugh.

    1. I went to my local CVS in Illinois yesterday and was told my shot would be $45 for flu and $65 for covid. I’ve never been charged before. So we’re contacting Blue Cross Blue Shield to see if we can get it somewhere else. They told us there might be a copay—but those aren’t copays, and we’ve never paid one before. Grr…

      1. Grr indeed! I also have BlueCross. I’m hoping to get it through my primary care doctor here in Wisconsin, but his clinic has a banner on their homepage saying that due to “delays at the federal level,” they don’t have it in yet.

    1. That stinks – and it’s so stupid….after everything we all went through with COVID. Waiting and waiting for those vaccines! And now it’s here but they’re going to make it hard for people to get. Our own government is making it hard to get.

      1. Be sure to check the CVS app to see if it may be easier than you think. (I’ve heard NH CVS’s are doing them, so I would think Maine would too!)

      2. Just called my pharmacy—Hannaford—and I was told the only way I could get a Covid shot was to get a prescription from doctor and a statement that it is medically necessary. What. The. Heck. I will do so tomorrow, but what a horror this administration is. I wonder how many more people will die of Covid before these jackasses leave Washington.
