Last night I was on a boat, in my pearls & chucks, with a bunch of people who didn’t seem to care that history was about to be made. We saw some lovely views of Boston.

Thank goodness I made it home in time to see her speech live.
I truly felt like I was experiencing history in the making. I mean, come ON. She was phenomenal. Many tears were shed.
How could any American not choose Kamala Harris to lead the United States forward over the alternative—whose name does not even deserve to be in the same sentence as hers.
I am beyond excited that my granddaughter will be arriving into this new world, filled with hope and possibility.
Here I am earlier in the day yesterday with people who do care, very much, about what happened last night. We were thrilled to have a special guest with us. Funny, she didn’t seem nervous at all about the huge speech she was about to give.

“And to be clear, my entire career, I’ve only had one client: the people.” ~Kamala D. Harris, Democratic National Convention, 2024

Onward, ho! A wonderful, historic speech that left me inspired. Why someone would want to vote for “he who must not be named” is a mystery to me. But many people do, and so far, the race is a close one. Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that Harris and Walz win.

Fingers, toes, plus postcards, texts, phone calls, etc….and all those crazy ways GenZ communicates. I think they’re fired up too…which is such a relief!

The photograph from the boat is so gorgeous! I tried to stay up for the speech, but had to wake so early so fell sleep and it blended with dreams enough that when I woke and actually watched, I felt as though I’d already heard the speech. It was great, though!

Thank you! That’s wild that the speech blended with your dreams. I was wide awake (after the boat) and had a very strong sense of experiencing history – someone truly meeting the moment. Our first woman President. 🥹

I rewatched the speeches again. It was so good all the way around. And Lil Jon was a cool moment…

As a life long Democrat, as an American who believes in the Constitution and values freedom, as a father, a son, a brother and believer in women rights, I want Harris to win so bad!
But as someone who has gotten to n is you through this blog, i also want Harris to win FOR YOU! Your passion, your support for her campaign is palpable through your words!
It seems like every election cycle, we’re told “this is the most important election of our lives”. This time, it’s never been more true!
