Which activities make you lose track of time?
I spend far too much time scrolling. My husband calls it “doom scrolling.”
Periodically, I delete different apps (like Facebook) from my phone or computer, so I won’t spend so much time looking at it, but I always end up reinstalling.
With Twitter, I was pissed at Elon Musk, so I deleted my whole account and can’t figure out how to get it back, so I’m logged into my husband’s account and am forbidden to like or post anything while in it.

Why don’t they show us more cat videos? It’s the “algorithm,” right? They have us pegged as furious Democrats, I guess. Doom scrolling just makes me madder.

It is hard to escape 🙂

My mental health is so much better since I stopped scrolling FB and Twitter. I hardly open IG or TikTok now either, but I’m definitely slipping in the knowledge of what’s happening department. I think since you have a church community that is politically active, it probably helps to put that riled up energy somewhere and talk with people, action being the antidote to despair, to quote Joan Baez. ❤

Great advice! Thank you…I really need to quit Facebook in particular. I used to really need be on it for work, but now it’s just either annoying or depressing.

FB is the worst for me, but I know people who keep just family and keep up well with one another that way. Depends on the family. 🙂

I’ve seen that. Their posts are nice, but like, do I need to see them too? I’m glad I discovered how to “unfollow” without unfriending.

That’s a super-power indeed!

You have a lot of will power not to like or post anything, especially with all of the tweets that are begging you for a response. Impressive!
I wouldn’t mind a bunch of panda videos to watch. Or puppy and kitten best friend videos. I’m a sucker for those.

I need to work on this. It’s hard not to doom scroll, even when you’re looking up something positive and fun.

Very true. Things feel a bit more upbeat lately though.
