“Spring” in Massachusetts

It’s 33 degrees Fahrenheit and snowing here this morning. I heard on the news that central Massachusetts is going to be the coldest place in the continental United States today: April 11, 2025. 🥶

Why it’s so cold outside when the climate is warming

  1. This past week, it went to 28° overnight and I tried to cover my eastern redbud tree, but I couldn’t. I covered all the plants. We haven’t seen any snow here, but it has been raining nonstop for weeks. I don’t know what’s going to happen to these blossoms that aren’t able to come out because of lack of sun. It’s so depressing.

    1. It IS depressing. How far south are you? It looked like DC had amazing cherry blossoms this year. This is the time of year when the Carolinas seem like a great idea.

      1. DC did have amazing cherry blossoms. They must’ve gotten some sun. And some warmth. DC is a few hours south of me. My mom’s weeping cherry tree is blooming now, but the rain has washed away all the blooms. Everything has been late to bloom except for the weeds. Sigh.

  2. Photos like that are beautiful to me. Of course, I realize living in the cold is no picnic – or so I’ve heard. My nephew goes to school in Boston and that’s probably has been his biggest transition. He loves the area so much, he’s staying out there over the summer for an internship. He’ll complete his weather experience to include all four seasons now that he’s staying. A much more diverse experience than back here in California. I hope it warms up for you soon. A little sunshine never hurts.
